Hello Readers,
I love picturing this service -- the celebration of Easter that references an earlier sunrise service led by JL, the opening celebratory hymns, and the youth involvment throughout.
Growing up our Easter weekends included dyeing eggs and hidden Sunday morning baskets. I stuck with both of those traditions with my own family - continuing up through their high school years -- we're never too old. I realized, once my kids had left home, that I like to color eggs -- here's some of my artwork displayed on the plate I inherited from my mom's mom Eggs More Eggs (If links don't work both photos, dyed eggs and deviled eggs, are on my Instagram: @amybhaddock.)
At times, my family would recognize lent by giving up some sort of luxury. According to Google lent is 2/18 - 4/2 this year. I haven't formally recognized any real denial of self for several years maybe decades. Last year I attempted to not click on any short-form videos on Facebook/Instagram, tougher than I'd like to admit.
Thanks for reading.
Stay well,
Amy BH
