Joyous Easter -- Christ the Lord is Risen Today

Because He Lives (Palm Sunday 2008)

  March 16, 2008 Dad opens with the announcement of Palm Sunday and Because He Lives 3'50" JH greets/announcements 7'40" Call to worship/prelude piano lively "To God Be the Glory" 10'30" Congregation Reading 11'48" Children's story ending with song  24'35" Sister acknowledges flowers from a recent funeral 'Lilian Holar'  24'50" Sister makes a plug for camp - Junior Camp (5th/6th grades) counselors niece and another young member 28'20" Sweet Hour of Prayer with lovely piano adding on extra delights -the final verse, voices only 31' Prayer led by JH 36' Piano classical/hymn like mix  38'35" Doxology/prayer of Offering/thanks 39'50" Scriptures referenced for Messiah solo to follow 39'57 'He Shall Feed His Flock" Sung solo (sister 💗💗) piano is niece? 44'46" Scripture reading JH 46'30" Sermon BS 1 Hour a leader from the district (I think) honors God...

Breathe On Me Breath of God

  March 9 2009 Dad opens the service commenting along the lines that it is the end of spring weather since the time has sprung forward -- anouncing the opening hymn (in three) as this Blog is titled. JH announcements/greeter - (I believe) 4' sister announcement re a funeral - and again at 5'15" 6'56" sister announces workdays and meals, Easter Sunrise is announced (JL? not sure of voice) 8' finishing of announcements -- into birthdays and special day song 11'20 violin and guitar Call to Worship 13' Responsive Reading 13'54" I Sing the Mighty --- sung by congregation 16'10 a reading? 16'54" Dad announces the next hymn Seek Ye First with guitar/violin -- adding flute on descant 19'30" Doxology flute/guitar/violin followed by prayer 20'55" SL: children story 29'15" Joys and Concerns  32'22" Sister requests prayer as she and husband will be speaking at the HS where there have been recent challenges...

Blessed Assurance

March 2 2008   Dad opens the service with Blessed Assurance -[on a beautiful spring morning] in a livey meter of 3 -- a true favorite of his -- I hear some flute not sure who that is...bc I think I also hear my sister singing 3'40" announcements start 8'30" The hymn from the sermon on the mount I can't remember the name "Blessed are They" ?? I hear guitar and flute then violin takes a verse.  10'15" Special Day Song 11'30" call to Worship -- followed by another Hymn with piano 16'08" Dad gives a meaningful introduction to a hymn about peace he plays on guitar with violin (tune is the same hymn Be Still My Soul) -- then prayer/offertory?- children's story (Mina) - Joys/Concerns... 34'20" Dad tells a story about fixing the plumbing at the church and things go from bad to worse (great dad story, Prayer/Praises 38'10" Dad gives an update on Mattie Miles, a joy so beautifully spoken Take Time to be Holy - Praye...

Near the Cross

  February 24 2008 Dad opens the service with (Jesus Keep Me) Near the Cross -- announcing that it's a snowy day, glad for the numbers given the weather (paraphrased). He also mentions appreciating the CD from last week's service when he was finding out what it's like to be a shut in (see last blog/dad gone for illness). His enthusiasm is as warm and inviting as ever -- in a 3 meter the guitar and violin lead the congregation. 4'5 JL leads the announcements, sister helps explain the opening hymn and how the canon will work and that she and brother in law will lead the parts with Dad, among other announcements --- Prelude and Offertory are my nieces solo piece and an accompany piece (with a flutist) she performed at districts/state festival (I/II earned)  At about 9'55" Niece's piano festival piece: modern rhythms/chords, starts dark and low, then brightens 16'03" new congregation hymn led by violin and flute (as explained above) 18"12 Mozart: ...
